I was nauseous at that point and throwing up. Everyone is different of course but the surgery helped me tremendously, it’s seriously night and day for me.Ībout 4 weeks ago I had horrible upper abdominal pain that felt like a rubber band that went all around my belly and back. I know they offered antibiotics if I wasn’t interested in surgery. Although it was scary being so far along baby is great and I am fully healed.Įverything you’re doing is what I did, but I would suggest talking to your OB about other possible treatment options. Turns out I had more stones the second time around, my gallbladder was inflamed and really scarred so surgery was definitely the fix. I did everything, Pepcid, Tylenol, heat packs, different sleeping positions, diet changes but nothing seemed to work until I got it removed.

I’ve felt the best I’ve felt in this whole pregnancy since then. The OB on call called the general surgeon I was admitted, had surgery the next day to remove my gallbladder. I was taken up to L&D so they could monitor baby.

(Again) because I couldn’t even make out full sentences I was gasping for air.

After like two or three attacks it got really bad going into my third trimester I couldn’t breathe, my husband rushed me to the E.R. The surgeon wasn’t confortable doing the surgery so we didn’t do it and suggested just Pepcid and Tylenol. I was referred to general surgery, my OB at the time suggested surgery was the best option and because I was in a window during the pregnancy that surgery was considered safe. I found out I had gallstones at 20 weeks because I started having pain around the gallbladder, a lot of heart burn, trouble breathing, etc.
